A Good Lives Wairarapa Information Series on WINZ benefits, allowances, job and training support was held in July 2025 at the Old Courthouse in Carterton.
The speakers were: Marama Stewart (Manager, Regional Services), Jason McMillan (Regional Health Advisor), Cathryn Woller (Regional Disability Advisor), and Roger Boulcott and Tash Hislop from Job and Training Support.
Topics included:
- Accessing disability allowances, accommodation supplements, supported living payments, advance payments, community services cards.
- How to receive help in finding work through jobseeker support, training incentive allowances, flexi-wage subsidies, Project in the Community, transition to work.
- How income will affect benefits and allowances
- How to receive support to cover extra costs to do your job
- How to receive training to get or stay in a job, including self-employment.
